Opening Sequence Outline
Here is the rough outline for my opening sequence. I intend to build up tension by crosscutting from the boy in the house to the killer outside, before having a shock reveal at the end of the sequence.
A teenage boy wakes up.
His parents are away on holiday.
As he washes and gets ready for the day ahead he receives a phone call from his neighbour.
They chat briefly before the neighbour says he thinks he saw something suspicious in his garden.
The boy thanks him and says he will check.
As the boy looks carefully around the house, a man can be seen moving around the garden.
As the boy looks into the garden, the man watches the house.
The boy puts on his shoes and goes to the front door.
He opens it but no-one is there.
As he closes the door the audience realise that the man is already in the house, standing behind the boy.
Now that I have my rough outline I am going to start putting together a shot list and a storyboard to help me whilst filming.
