Cast and Crew in the Titles
To make my opening sequence appear authentic I have included the names of various actors, crew members, the director and producers who have worked within the thriller genre in the past.
Liam Neeson has recently starred in numerous movies from the thriller genre including Taken, The Commuter, Cold Pursuit and A Walk Among the Tombstones. The role of the vengeful father is one that he is suited to and has played many times.
Emily Blunt has also frequently starred in thrillers including A Quiet Place, The Adjustment Bureau, The Girl on the Train and Sicario. She will play the victim's mother, a strong woman who subverts many of the typical gender representations within the genre.
Will Poulter will play the first victim. Even though the character seems to die at the beginning of the film, the audience will see the character again in flashbacks (and possibly at the end of the film in a major twist). He has appeared in a number of thrillers including Detroit, The Revenant and Wild Bill.
Jack O'Connell will play the young detective assigned to the case. His suspicious behaviour should lead to the audience suspecting that he may be involved in the killing. Is he, in fact, the unseen murderer? Thrillers he has starred in include Eden Lake, '71, Money Monster and Starred Up.
Eric Fellner has produced a number of thrillers including Atonement, United 93, The Snowman and The Two Faces of January.
Denis Lehane is a writer of thriller novels and screenplays who has taken a number of executive producer roles on films within the genre including Shutter Island and Live by Night.
Jill Green has produced thrillers including The American and Safe House.
Chris Brigham has been involved with numerous thrillers as a producer, including Inception, Live by Night, Argo and Shutter Island.
David Fincher has a track record of directing successful thriller movies. His back catalogue includes Se7en, Zodiac, Gone Girl, Panic Room and The Game.
