Opening Sequence Analysis - 2 - Sherlock Holmes

The second opening sequence I am looking at is from Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes.



This opening sequence does the following:

• the central protagonist, Sherlock Holmes, is introduced and some of his character traits are established
• establishes location - urban Victorian England
• sets up an enigma, creating mystery for the audience
• establishes the style of the film
